The EDW platform offers an extensive set of application programming interfaces (APIs) to support flexible architecting of customer solutions. The APIs enable tight integration and real-time interaction between the EDW platform and enterprise applications. Customers can take advantage of digital writing features while selecting the type and level of integration that best meets their needs. These range from the use of ExpeData’s existing interfaces, to completely embedding the EDW platform within the customers’ applications and preserving the look and feel of existing applications.
The API set is in use by current customers with excellent results. The API set applies to a wide variety of modules of the EDW platform including data acquisition, management of pen strokes, lexicon entries, user management, pen management, catalogs, forms, password policy options, and additional information. Both the EDW server and acquisition software can be entirely embedded within customer applications. The APIs enable high-performance integration with existing databases. Additionally, the Print on Demand services can be accessed using the API set.
Unauthorized access is prevented by a strong set of security features. The EDW platform uses a role-based model and allows the desired security policies to be set through programmatic control.
ExpeData offers multiple Software Development Kits (SDKs) and a comprehensive Programmers’ Guide to facilitate integration or embedding of the EDW platform within customers’ applications.
